ERDDAP

ERDDAP servers enable access to a large number of our datasets.

Accessing Canada's Ocean Data via ERDDAP

ERDDAP is a data server that gives you a reproducible way to download subsets of scientific datasets in common file formats, and to make simple graphs and maps. The data are served to users via standardised formats with a geospatial metadata standard common in ocean science. ERDDAP servers enable many datasets (with different native file types) to be accessed from a single central platform via a graphical user interface or via an API. The CIOOS Data Explorer tool directs users to source data via ERDDAP.

ERDDAP has many features that familiar users find helpful, but there is often a learning curve to using it effectively. In this video, we’ll walk you through ERDDAP’s basic functions so you can start customizing, visualizing, and downloading all the data you need — without the extra that you don’t.
